BIO

Suzannah "Zanah" Danae (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist, designer, brand manager, creative director, and storyteller with over 17 years of professional experience. Her work spans digital art, editorial design and layout, educational publishing, and visual narrative. As both an editorial editor and designer, she brings a thoughtful, narrative-driven approach to every project, blending aesthetic sensibility with clear, effective communication. Zanah is an English Literature major, with ongoing academic focus in mythology and symbolism—an area that deeply informs both her artistic practice and written work.

With advanced expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Zanah specializes in editorial layout design, educational publishing, and editorial photography. She is proficient across the Adobe Creative Suite—photo, video, and design—as well as Final Cut Pro, Procreate, Spark AR, WordPress, QuarkXPress, and ZBrush.  Entirely self-taught in several disciplines, she began her digital art journey at the age of 12, teaching herself both Photoshop and HTML in 1998.

Zanah has spent over a decade working in educational publishing, with a particular focus on children’s literature and educational media. Her passion for storytelling extends into her writing, and her poetry and short fiction have been published in various Texas-based literary outlets. In the early 2010s, she also founded and designed a handmade fashion line that gained international recognition in independent style publications between 2010 and 2015.

Among her most ambitious creative endeavors, in 2016 Zanah personally redesigned and helped restore a historic Texas ranch, transforming it into an artisan bed and breakfast and event venue, which her company sold  in 2020.

Originally from the Texas Hill Country, Zanah has made her home in Austin for the past 14 years. She works from a serene studio nestled in the trees along the Greenbelt, where she continues to create, write, and explore. When she’s not immersed in creative projects, she enjoys hiking, gaming, thrifting, reading, and traveling—always finding inspiration in the natural world and the vibrant culture of Austin.
